Hi Joshua – thanks for watching and giving us your thoughts. The issue with putting the film out for free – which we keep grappling with – is actually that it is unacceptable to other VOD providers, so then you’re also closing down the avenue of putting the film out on these other platforms. So you would prefer to watch it eg on YouTube for free, with ads?

An interesting presentation of The Venus Project and the social issues and outcomes that Jacque has come up with. It is by no means my first introduction to TVP and so my interpretation is biased, but I feel the narrative was too heavily artistic and too vague on details. This probably works for some and doesn’t for others. There were many times that I wished the narrative story was clearer and less poetic. Perhaps I am dense or I just cling too much to the concept of clear communication as proposed by Jacque to care much for fluffy-art in communicating such concepts. I did appreciate seeing more of Technocracy, Inc. than I had seen before. (I had no idea there was such a following at one time.)


Finally I would add that this film is nearly 3 years old now and while I didn’t mind paying to rent it as I am deeply interested in social change I doubt even as a gift I could get many people I know to sit down and watch. It seems that it should be released for streaming freely now. I understand that everything has production costs but the information isn’t getting any newer and spreading the message through any means possible really should be the goal.

I loved how this film portrays such an exact concept in a artistic and poetic way. Inspiring, gives me ideas on how to implement this new found knowledge in my own arts as a musician.

I would love to use the pay it forward give economy for our films. Where do I find the technology for this. I understand you worked with Distrify but I cannot find it on their web site. Terry Sterrenberg [email protected]

The subject is most important and the film has a certain beauty, but I think it takes the easy way out by making an artistic statement rather than employing a sharp analysis. A film using the latter could have had so much more impact, but then again a director must make the film that suits herself. However I was happy to learn about the Venus project and the couple behind it. I would have liked to get to know a bit more about it though. A bit too dreamlike to my taste but to each their own.

Beautiful film, loved it, will pay it forward, the difficulty is finding someone who will appreciate it as much as me. I thought I was alone with my thinking that there was something wrong with the way we are made to live, I am filled with sadness when I think about the way the human race could be living, filled with hope when I listen to like minded people such as yourselves and a strange kind of bliss in my ignorance during the days I don’t think about it because I am too caught up in the system we live in today, thank the earth for you guys!

Hi Michael. Yes we filmed this at the time when TVP was up for sale but I would have thought that it’s pretty widely known that they are still in Venus? And easily verifiable on the web. Unfortunately it takes a lot of resources to add a note to all our versions of the film, but I agree, it would be nice to do a post script at some point. best wishes Sonja

Hello! There have been some confusion about the film and what happend after filming. Many people have thought that Jacque & Roxanne actually did sell the TVP Research Center which is not true (that part in the film was filmed in 2009 was it?).


There should be comments at the end of the film explaining this and maybe what have happend since the films release in the world (to get the points in the film linked with reality).

Beautiful peace it is.

I usually like the fully quiet films the best, but this had the same quality to it, well done!


I love the idea of another society. Im 46 now and I always strived this way, since a little kid I felt detached from society, not that I couldnt participate if I wanted, I just felt it was wrong, still do.

I always helped even at times it meant I had something and ended up with nothing, still do, and its worth it, every time!


So just a simple comment from a non film-knowledgeble person.

I love this film! I love the way you combine the sicence aspect with the love story. It is great art and it exposes us humans as we are, with our search and need to belive in a better world and our inability to escape who we are and where we come from. This voice you represent is my voice, thank you!

Many thanks for your feedback, and sorry you didn’t get to ask your question at the screening. There are many “solution films” to be made in this subject area, and of course change coming from communities themselves is a vital part of the equation. I think it’s interesting but also not surprising why Jacque provokes quite a few people, but I’d be careful not to equate his views with a corporation such as Monsanto; technological advance, such as GM food within the monetary/capitalist system can often be (as the film does point out) absolutely scary and destructive – for the environment, for people. Rather than “dissenting” with Jacque on camera, I think Maja does manage to question the focus on technology, and bring in a hugely important element to the debate, which is our emotional side and how we might relate to each other in such a future.

I saw Future My Love in Glasgow last night, but wasn’t time to ask the question I had in mind during the discussion afterwards. My feelings about the film are very mixed, although visually very interesting and thematically provocative, I came away feeling annoyed rather than inspired.


To me the main weakness in the film was the attention given to Jacques whose views of the “solution” were based on technology, science, design and control rather than grassroots change from communities themselves. Some of what he said in relation to having the technology to feed the world had disturbing echoes of the message being promoted by Monsanto, that the only way we can feed the world is through technological intervention in our food-chain, ie GM food. At a time of great ecological crisis, we need to be promoting simple solutions and alternatives that rely on a closer affinity to the natural world, less reliant on technology rather than more. As someone who works in a community based food project and campaigns on environmental justice issues, I felt the lack of a challenge or dissenting voice to much of what Jacques said weakened the film considerably.

Hi Michael – thanks for the feedback. Jacque does say of course within the film that it’s not about his singular vision of the future. The film is about how Jacque’s ideas and designs enable us to discuss personal and world “economy” from a different perspective and deeply relate it back to our personal resistance to (and responsibility for) change. The problem with a “survey film” – presenting lots of different visions by many people – is that while it might show breadth, it might lack depth – and it’s something that might be more achievable within a TV series perhaps. It’s definitely worth researching however.

I love the Venus project. The only thing I need to say is that I believe the focus on Jacque and his designs leaves some people with the impression that it’s all about him and his vision. Of course looking deeper reveals that it’s about all mankind and what we can achieve together. But it’s those vital first few seconds when visiting the project online that count in the area of perception.


I would like to see a version that engages the visitor as a creator themselves. That presents Jacque’s work as just one mans work alongside others. Otherwise people form the impression that Jacque is a dictator of some kind who wants to be the designer of our lives. Not the truth which is far more beautiful.

This is so informative and important to awake the people who have become slaves but they don’t know that they are slaves of the few greedy creatures. We have only this small and beautiful “blue planet” to live happily together and nowhere else to go. Love yourself but don’t Hate others! I hope and wish that Future My Love can make some difference in people’s mind!

I got in touch twice – once a few years ago – with my suggestion to produce a movie to deliver your vision to human kind around the globe picturing possible new ways of living – did I get a response? I believe NO. I recently got in touch about two weeks ago hoping to help get your current film into viewing in Berlin. Did I get a response? NO. I believe this project is going to fail if you don’t manage to involve or integrate people’s desire to contribute. Sadly, I resolved to no longer believe in you and your project. I hadn’t yet watched the film, but i am now feeling enthusiastic & quite excited ,while learning too much from previous commentators, eventually presented an imaginative pictursique scene to narrate the whole by my own thoughts.
